Child Psychological Assessments

I have been a licensed clinical psychologist for 5 years.  My specialty is assessing children for developmental disabilities (including Autistic Disorder, Asperger's Disorder, and Mental Retardation).

Through testing and evaluation, developmental delays can be identified early and appropriate services can be obtained before a child falls further behind on his or her developmental milestones.  I have experience helping parents organize services for children with special needs and I am available to consult with other mental health professionals, school district personnel, physicians, etc.

Accurate diagnosis and early intervention are the keys to success when a child is falling behind.

Adult Therapy

I also treat adults who are experiencing depression and anxiety.  I use cognitive-behavioral techniques to treat these symptoms.  The focus of therapy is to help my patients adjust the way they think about themselves and their behaviors and to help them make lifestyle and behavioral changes.

I believe that limiting one's self-defeating beliefs and behaviors can lead to more fulfilling relationships with oneself and with others.  I maintain a respect and appreciation for individual preferences, situations, cultures, and belief systems.

Parent/Child Therapy

I also have experience addressing parent/child relationships (as well as child sibling relationships).  The goal of therapy is to help parents become more effective and influential with their children and to help children understand the perspectives and perceptions of their siblings.

I have a direct, honest, and interactive style.  I take a proactive and positive approach to encourage my patients to develop tools for improved communication in interpersonal relationships.
